Walk For Hunger

Be Part of the 2017 HAA Global Month of Service!

The Club event for the 2017 HAA Global Month of Service is Project Bread's Walk for Hunger. The Walk will take place on Sunday, May 7th and will follow a beautiful 10-mile route starting at Boston Common, walking along the Charles River, and ending as always back at Boston Common. You can walk all ten miles, or any distance you like. At the 5 mile-mark, there will be shuttle buses available to bring people back to Boston Common.

In addition to the scenic walk, this year the Walk for Hunger will kick-off with a 5k starting on the Boston Common.

Phil Schneider, who will be walking with his five grandchildren, is the Club's Walk coordinator.

The 49th Walk for Hunger & 5K Run is an annual community movement of neighbors helping neighbors across the Commonwealth. Since its inception in 1969, the Walk for Hunger has raised more than $100 million to support local programs that alleviate hunger.

This year, more than 300 local programs in more than 100 Massachusetts communities will be supported through money raised by Walkers (and runners!) including: food pantries, meal programs, food rescue, urban agriculture, and critical child nutrition programs. Your Walk makes it possible.
