New Shared Interest Group for "First Generation" Harvard Graduates

The First Generation Harvard Alumni shared interest group of the Harvard Alumni Association  www.firstgenerationharvardalumni.com seeks to improve the climate for Harvard's "First Generation" students (i.e. those who represent the first generation of their families to attend a four year, US university).  They are beginning recruitment now for mentors for their 2014-15 mentorship program, which matches alumni with incoming first year First Generation students in the fall of each academic year.  If interested in becoming a mentor or simply being on their mailing list, contact FGHA Chair Kevin Jennings '85 at Kevin@KevinJennings.com

New book published by Sean O'Rourke '49

"A Brief History of Harvard Eateries and Watering Holes" takes the reader on a lighthearted tour of the eating and drinking establishments that have graced Harvard Square over the years.  Some remain open.  Others such as Elsie's, the Tasty and the Wursthaus have disappeared.  The book will make a fine Holiday gift if your list includes an alum "who has everything."
