Be an Interviewer

The Harvard Club In Concord provides assistance to the Harvard Admissions Office each year by interviewing over 100 student applicants for Harvard College from the MetroWest area. Our area includes the ten towns of Acton, Carlisle, Concord, Hudson, Lincoln, Littleton, Maynard, Stow, Sudbury, and Wayland. Harvard attempts to interview every applicant, and admissions reports are an important component in each applicant’s file for consideration by the Admissions Committee.

Harvard relies on its alumni/ae to conduct most interviews. Anyone who has attended Harvard and Radcliffe College or any of the Harvard graduate schools is qualified to be an interviewer. Last year, there were 133 applicants from our Club area. We have over 55 active interviewers.

A typical interview is held in a convenient location, such as the local library, and lasts about an hour. Reports are submitted online. Interviews are conducted between mid-November and late January. Interviewers can choose to conduct one or several interviews, depending on time available. Alumni/ae interviewers find that talking with prospective students is rewarding and stimulating; the talents and aspirations of these promising applicants are truly remarkable. Conducting interviews offers alumni/ae an opportunity to give back to Harvard by being an ambassador for the College and helping shape the classes of the future.
